The statement of "Live Unlocked" may be scary to some, as unlocked smartphone usually means you have to take out a second mortgage to buy it with some handsets. Alcatel OneTouch is really going to shake up the smartphone industry with their Idol 3, budget friendly, flagship offering.
There are a few quirks with this phone, the major one I noticed is the placement of the power on/off, sleep/wake button. It is on the left side of the phone. This goes against my instinct of phone manipulation and really took some getting used to. You'll need to take this into consideration if you're thinking of going with the Idol 3. It's a big phone and kind of slippery, so there is potential for drops when you're going through this learning phase of powering on or waking your phone.
This phone does a lot of things really well. The speakers and display on this phone are simply magnificent! You will be immersed in your content consumption and will thoroughly enjoy it. From there your have the ability to expand storage. In a world where manufactures are opting out of expandable storage, it is definitely refreshing to see the Idol 3 has it available. It is a really great phone and has me wondering how in the hell Alcatel OneTouch is doing this at this price point. If you can get your hands on one you'll be just as impressed as I am and will begin to wonder why other manufacturers are charging so much for their phones.
